Laoundi, Prince of Maii

This was an art piece I did for my college portfolio.  I have been experimenting with different style of digital art and wanted to do a fancy and really neat looking portrait of a character I had created in my head.  First I drew up some roughs of a pose and used those to draw up a pencil sketch (see below).  I did a bit of shading in the picture but tried to just get the lines solid and smooth.

I scanned the artwork into my computer and used paint shop pro to clean up some of the rough parts.  I then made layers and started to paint, using a wacom tablet, right over the line work.  After, I took the line work and made it a multiply layer over top and it made the picture stand out even more.  After about 2 weeks of working on this painting here and there, I got it done.
